These are supposed to produce acorns in 2-3 years after planting and a bumper crop in 5. I think they are related to the white oak family. They only get 12-15' tall.

White oak acorns can be planted this fall...or they can go into the fridge for the winter along with the Red Oak acorns to undergo the stratification process. Don't allow the acorns to dry out - if you don't plant them right away store them in ziplock baggies with a damp paper towel in the fridge. They drop acorns in 15 to 20 years, like posted above.
